Sleeping Dogs Game Review

Sleeping Dogs pits players as an undercover cop attempting to infiltrate the Sun On Yee Triad in Hong Kong. Using any means necessary, players must bash, shoot, and drive their way to earn the trust of the Triad so that they can bring it down from the inside out. It comes together exceptionally well and makes for one of the most fun open world experiences in a long time. With a cast featuring big names like Lucy Liu, Emma Stone, and Tom Wilkinson, the cinematic direction of the story flows wonderfully, creating a pacing that kept me engulfed in what would happen next until the brutally-violent final act. Between the wonderfully acted story and the tight car and gunplay, Sleeping Dogs is an exceptional open-world crime drama that ups the ante for cinematic story presentations -- and execution moves -- in games. All in all it gets a 4/5 on the DanO scale...def worth picking up!

WWE '13 Game Review

WWE '13 is basically a slightly tweaked version of last years game. It has brought in the Attitude Era mode, referencing back to the good old days of wrestling including characters like Stone Cold, The Undertaker, The Rock. It also is as graphically appealing as ever and offers tons and tons of customization. The biggest and most glaring downfall thought is the gameplay. The handling is clunky, the animations many times are very bad and all in all it results in angry button mashing and lots of yelling at the tv. There is also no practice or tutorial mode. So this leads it to receive a 2.5/5 on the DanO scale and at a price tag of $47.99 used and still $59.99 new...I say it's def. not worth the price tag...wait for it to drop.

Far Cry 3 Game Review

Far Cry 3 not only picks up where Far Cry 2 left off, but it did make it better. The game offers huge open world levels, with a wide variety of tasks and missions. The missions are often long and leave you with a sense of satisfaction (thats what she said). You also get some solid gunplay with a huge selection of guns for use and customization. And the storyline, while not one I personally prefer, does offer memorable and compelling characters. This game offers tons of replay ability and you can easily log 80 + hours in it. On the negative side if your looking for good co-op and/or mulitplayer this game offers an adequate version of both and the single player campaign is the real gem. It also offers the occasional glitchy bad guys who tend to get stuck in rocks and other parts of the map. I have it a 3/5 on the DanO scale and King Tern my special guest host this evening gave it a 4/5 so we will go with the average and give it a 3.5/5 on the Dan0 scale
Tonight's Game Review is on Minecraft. Minecraft is available for PC and Xbox 360. On Xbox the game is available for under $20 and is purchased by using Microsoft points in the Xbox Live Arcade. The pricing is awesome and the game is only limited by your imagination. This game offers randomly generated open world maps as well as various modes that allow you to literally construct anything your mind can come up with. It also allows you to explore underground mines, strongholds, and other mysterious caves. The graphics are intentionally meant to look full of pixels and everything to be square....but graphics be damned the game is a blast. It offers countless replay ability and I have logged over 100 hours in the game easily. It gets a 4/5 on the DanO scale...its cheap, you can create ANYTHING and the replay ability is off the charts.

Borderlands 2 Game Review
Borderlands 2, the sequel to Borderlands, does not disappoint. If you enjoyed the first one, then to be brief...BUY SECOND ONE! Now if you haven't played the first or are still unsure...how about a little more detail. Borderlands takes place on Pandora (No, not the music player) and offers amazing story lines and extremely humorous writing. You can play solo, or co op with up to 3 other friends with jump in and jump out game play. You get to go and basically blow the crap out of things with a wide array of weaponry and abilities. It has solid cell shade graphics and a fairly smooth flow of the game. It could however use some better navigation and checkpoint systems, but overall a solid game. I give it a 4.5/5 on the DanO scale as it is a contender for Game of The Year. It is well worth its price tag
Tip 6 Think, Then Act

You might think this goes without saying, but I have to be sure. All to often people make rash, snap decisions and thinks don't work out for the best. When it comes to Zombies, you can not afford for things to go any more wrong than they already have. I understand sometimes it may be hard to stop and think things over before acting, but hey the mind is powerful and can think very quick....So the moral of the story don't be Rambo and don't make rash decision....Stop, Think, Then Act!

Walking Dead Game Review

If your a fan of the Walking Dead Comics this game is more in line for that than the tv show. The art and graphic styling of the game looks like your watching a live episode of the comic in 3D. While there is action, this is not a run and shoot type of game...this is a game that depends heavily on choices and decision making. The decisions you make dictate the path of the game. You can download each episode of the 5 available one by one or buy a disc containing them all. While they claim to release further episodes...it is still not for sure. The length of the game while not super short is not enough for this gamer. And with Activision announcing plans for a Walking Dead game based on the tv show offering more run and gun style of play this game could fade out. Overall this is a solid game, however if you want more action, and don't want to think of constantly buying episodes if they are released then this is not for you overall I give it a 3.5/5 on the DanO scale, taking a hit for lack of action and the length of the game...if your looking for something different though this is a solid buy

TIP 5 Renewable Resources

Hitman Absolution is the newest addition to the Hitman series. For those of you who have played other games in the series your in for the core elements that make Hitman great along with new things that really take it up a notch. For you who have never played Hitman before, good news you it is not really necessary for you to have played previous games to understand whats going on in the story. This game offers numerous hours of replay ability as you Agent 47 carry out contract killings. Instinct, similar to Arkham Asylums detective mode, offers an entire other layer to the game. This game offers variety and choice just like dishonored and is well worth the price tag it carries. It is not recommend for younger kids as it contains violence and language. It gets a 4 out of 5 on the DanO scale.
Tip # 4 WEAPONS, TAKE WHAT YOU NEED, NOT WHAT YOU CAN!

Sure you could take that bazooka...but what would be the point in that? Overstocking weapons only leads to fatigue from constantly having to drag them everywhere with you. When you are on foot, which can and will happen often, there is no need to carry more than you absolutely need over long distances. A handgun, rifle and some sort of melee weapon should work fine for you to make it wherever you are headed. Now on the flip side of this if you are in a structure of place your attempting to make your "permanent" place of operations then by all mean grab anything and everything you can!

If you have played previous CoDs and are a loyal follower than you know the drill. Not to much has changed and what has for the most part has changed for the worst. Multiplayer offers mo

re assitance to the player than needed, your perks are limited and not overly impressive new game modes. The campaign is solid, still not long enough, and offers branching story lines. The Strikeforce missions however are a pain in the ass and not necessary. Overall the game lacked the WOW factor that Halo 4 and Borderlands 2 did which is why im giving it a 3/5. If your a CoD fan its still a solid typical CoD but if your searching for something new....its lacking.

TIP #3 CONSERVE AMMO!

Don't go Rambo pumping clips upon clips into the zombies body...aim for the head. This requires practice and as crazy as it sounds....PATIENCE! It's been proven shooting wildly and unloading with automatic weapons is NOT a sound idea....So take your time, aim carefully, shoot, and save ammo....and you will live to fight another day!

Assassin's Creed 3....to put it simply: IT' AMAZING! And before you get ahead of yourself and panic never fear, if you haven't played previous AC games...you can still pick this one up and understand whats going on. Not only does it offer a...

Tip #2 for Dodging the Dead

If you can't bite through it....Neither can they!
When choosing attire make sure to pick something that you, yourself, are unable to bite through. This will allow you to pick attire that is lighter in weight but will still provide ample protection.

Dishonored Game Review

Dishonored....A potential game of the year canidate. It is what I like to say is a blend of Assassins Creed with a hint to Skyrim. It blends stealth, combat and of course mystical, magical powers all seamlessly. The game centers around the freedom of choice....Do you want to go in guns blazing? Or perhaps you wish to sneak around in the shadows....maybe you eve wanna take possesion of someone or something and do it that way...The choice is yours! The basis of the plot centers around you as Corvo, personal bodyguard to the queen of a whaling town. The town is struck by a black plague and the queen is assassinated. You are framed for her murder and now must seek your revenge! This game offers no multiplayer mode, but with the vast levels and many hidden areas it offers many many hour of replay ability and side missions for you to do. Graphically it is beautiful and rivals Skyrim, Halo 4, and Assassins Creed 3 from a visual aspect. It gets a 4.5/5 on the DANO scale. It would make a great gift idea for the holidays and is well worth the price!

Dodging the Dead

If you missed in on air never fear...I have the first tip in the new series called "Doding the Dead". In this series I provide YOU with tips on how to be better prepared for the oncoming Zombie Apocalypse! So without further to do here is the first tip!

Tip #1: CARDIO

Yes thats right cardio! While slinging around weights and having huge muscles has its place, all of that will not compare to the benefits of good cardio. When the time comes to run, and trust me that time will come, you will be glad you had good cardio. You don't have to be the fastest person in the group, all you need is to be faster than one person! As mean as it sounds, it is survival of the fittest and most prepared and if you are able to out run someone to bad for them! So there you have it CARDIO....get it or get eaten!

Halo 4 Video Game Review

Welcome to the re launch of Video Game Reviews! (Catchy Title still to come). Our kick off review is of Halo 4 which was released on November 6th, 2012. Grossing over $220 Million dollars on launch day, Halo 4 is a hit! No longer a product of Bungie, 343 Studios had great success with their first title in the series. Halo 4 offers by far the BEST graphics of series as well as some of the best cinema and cut scenes. In addition to amping up the visual aspect of the game, 343 also did away with the pesky Flood race and brought in the Promethian race. The Promethians offer new strategy and depth in combat and attack with overwhelming number as well as variety of opponents. The other big additon to Halo 4 is in the multiplayer world. 343 has added custom load outs to the multiplayer world and offered unlockable custome armor and tags. All in all this is the best Halo to date and worth every bit of the $60 price tag on it. It offers tons of gameplay and would make a great holiday gift choice.
